What Is SAVMA Symposium?

Did you know that the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) is turning 50 this year? What better way to celebrate than with a party – and some great educational events and competitions.

SAVMA Symposium is the largest veterinary student educational event in the WORLD! Each year, the event is hosted by a veterinary college and coordinated by veterinary students just like you to highlight unique experiences for veterinary students. This year’s event, hosted by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, includes great topics like Uroliths in companion animals; a session with an experienced veterinarian, entitled “Do I have to tell them?”; resume workshops; and so much more! You also will get opportunities to demonstrate your knowledge through competitions such as Bovine palpation, a radiology competition, and more. Want to demonstrate your athletic skills instead? Join the Vet Student Olympics and bring home your own “gold”!!

In addition to the scheduled events, explore beautiful Minneapolis and meet colleagues from all aspects of veterinary medicine. We look forward to seeing you in Minnesota this March 11-13. Learn more.
